The Forest Room

We are delighted this year to share with the children our new Forest Room and Woodland Room. The Forest Room is an inclusive environment where all children, especially those with additional needs, can feel comfortable and thrive. We support the children in self regulation, focus and overall well-being. Our multi-sensory environment engages the senses and helps children explore and interact with their surroundings that promotes cognitive, emotional and social development. Our aim is to help children learn and grow and foster holistic approaches to make sure every child reaches their full potential.

The children have been so excited this week to keep exploring our new Forest Room. We engaged in role play and practiced our communication skills by having a teddy bear picnic. We had the best tea and cake! The children have also been very musical this week, we have loved singing songs, playing the piano, banging on drums and shaking the tambourine! We have been focusing on our fine motor skills and hand- eye coordination by building towers and making models in our construction area. The children are using our quiet corner beautifully to self-regulate. The children have enjoyed resting, snuggling up with a blanket and reading their favourite story
