Welcome back and Covid-19 Update

I hope you have all enjoyed the half-term break.

New 'Living with Covid' guidance came into effect on Thursday 24th February. Covid rules are now moving from 'Government restrictions' to 'personal responsibility.'

  • It is no longer necessary for staff in education settings to undertake twice weekly asymptomatic testing.
  • Tests will be available if there is a local outbreak.
  • There is no legal requirement to self-isolate following a positive test, however, adults and children who test positive will continue to be advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for at least 5 full days, and then continue to follow the guidance until they have received 2 negative test results on consecutive days.
  • We would thank you for continuing to protect our pupils and staff from the virus by following this advice.
  • From 24th February, the Government no longer asks fully vaccinated close contacts and those aged under 18 to test daily for 7 days, and has removed the legal requirement for close contacts who are not fully vaccinated to self-isolate.  Staff, children and young people should attend their education settings as usual. This includes staff who have been in close contact within their household, unless they are able to work from home.
  • School attendance is mandatory for all pupils of compulsory school age and therefore all pupils should attend unless they are not well enough or test positive for Covid-19.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us, should you have any concerns about any of the information above.
