P.E

Physical Education at Stockton on the Forest

At Stockton, we believe that Physical Education plays a vital role in supporting children’s physical health, emotional wellbeing, and personal development. We are proud to be an active school where sport is valued, celebrated, and enjoyed by all.

High-Quality P.E. Provision

All pupils receive two high-quality P.E. lessons each week:

  • Specialist-led P.E. delivered by our trusted sports provider, Total Sports, every Monday and Friday

  • Teacher-led P.E. delivered weekly by class teachers, ensuring continuity and strong links to the wider curriculum

Our P.E. curriculum is designed to be inclusive, progressive, and engaging, helping children to develop fundamental skills, teamwork, confidence, and a lifelong love of physical activity.

Competitive Sport and Tournaments

We actively encourage children to take part in intra- and inter-school sporting events. Our pupils regularly represent the school in local tournaments and competitions, promoting sportsmanship, resilience, and teamwork. These opportunities allow children to challenge themselves, celebrate success, and feel proud to represent their school.

After-School Sports Clubs

We offer a wide range of after-school P.E. and sports clubs, which change on a half-termly basis to give children the opportunity to experience a variety of sports and activities. These clubs are extremely popular and help children to stay active, build new skills, and discover new interests.

Specialist Sports Workshops

Throughout the year, we welcome external sports clubs and coaches into school to deliver workshops and taster sessions. These experiences introduce pupils to new sports, broaden their horizons, and inspire them to pursue physical activities both in and out of school.

Sports Week

Each year, we host an exciting Sports Week during the week leading up to Sports Day. During this week, children take part in a range of different sporting activities and challenges, celebrating participation, teamwork, and personal achievement. Sports Week is always a highlight of the school year and creates a fantastic sense of energy and enthusiasm across the school.

An Active School Community

We are proud to be an active school that promotes healthy lifestyles for both children and families. Every Friday morning, we invite parents and carers to join us for our ‘Get Fit for 10’ session — a fun, inclusive 10 minutes of fitness that brings our school community together and sets a positive tone for the day.
